Youth Ministries
Youth are a vital part of our church family and included in all aspects of our church. First United Methodist Church strives to offer first steps of faith and age appropriate programs that will lead to a life in Christ.
Sunday School
Our Middle School Youth and Senior High Youth have Sunday School each Sunday morning led by Mrs. Susan Hunsucker and Mr. Donald Scronce at 9:45 AM beginning with doughnuts and drinks. They teach the bible in an unique and creative way.
Middle School UMYF
Our Middle School Youth meet on Sunday afternoon from 4:00-
5:30 PM. A snack supper is served at 5:oo PM each Sunday. This is a special time the youth have together for fun and exciting lessons on the bible and lessons on being a christian.
Senior High UMYF
The Senior High Youth meet on Sunday afternoon from 5:00-6:30 PM. A snack supper is served at 5:00 PM for all. Our Youth help make up the Praise Band, Praise Choir and Drama Teams. These Youth also participate in conference events, retreats, building teams, beach retreats and service projects.
Girls Liturgical Dance
Girls from 2nd grade through 12 grade do a Liturgical Dance. Different times of the year they are a part of our Worship Experience here at First UMC. Lisa Martin and Kristy Smith work with the girls through out the school year.
Youth Prayer Breakfast
Youth from all over the community come to have breakfast, devotion and fellowship. We meet each Wednesday during the school year at 6:45 AM in the Youth room. We ask a $1.00 donation to help cover the cost of the food. Numerous volunteers help with the cooking, and the youth give special food orders as they come through the door. Our youth director, Peggy Correll, leads a devotion and gives the youth three copies of a Bible verse to share with others at school. Come and be a part of this very special time.
