bring the kids!

Children are gifts from God. First United Methodist Church strives to nurture and educate our children in age appropriate activities and programs.

nursery

Our Nursery and Toddler rooms are located below the Sanctuary along with Children's Church School Classes. Sunday childcare is provided during all worship and Sunday School sessions. Every worship service has an infant and toddler nursery staffed by a professional and volunteers. 11:00 AM worship also has a Children's Church following the Children's Sermon. Age appropriate child packets with crayons and activities are available in the vestibule for use during worship.

acolytes and crucifers

Acolytes and Crucifers are children 7 years of age and older, who have received training, by the Pastor, in the significance and importance of the "Bearer of the Light" in the overall worship experience. Acolytes and crucifers perform their duties at the 11 AM Sunday Worship Service by processing the cross and the light to the altar candles and by recessing the light at the close of worship. The church provides a black robe and the appropriate seasonal collar for the child to wear.
